A.N.Z.A.C

For the last two weeks, we have been learning about ANZAC day and why we remember the people who have risked their lives to let us live the way we live right now. We read lots of stories about Anzac day, there are lots of poems about it too. We had a special visitor ( someone called Connie's family Nana) come to see us and talk about Anzac soldiers. She also brought out a soldier's penny. We also watched videos and animations about what happened at Anzac-Cove. Some of the activities we did were:
  1.  Researching why the Last-Post is so important.
  2. Researching what a soldiers penny is.
  3. Researched what dog tags were.
  4. Drew an Anzac button.
  5. We had to write down 5 questions we would ask a soldier who has been in WW1
  6. Draw an A3 poster that has 6 pictures 2 of Chunuk Bair (one of what it looked like in the war and 1 of what it looks like now) 2 of Walker's ridge  (one of what it looked like in the war and 1 of what it looks like now) and 2 of Quinn's post  (one of what it looked like in the war and 1 of what it looks like now).
  7.  we also made a timeline for what happens in a dawn parade.
