phonics prefixes

Last week, in Phonics, we learned about prefixes. A prefix is a small group of letters that go before a word to change It's meaning, such as: re, im and dis. for one week, we have been learning about the prefix, 're'  the prefix 're' means to repeat or do again. We made a word tree and put in ten words that start with 're' and put a table near it to show what we have written, Have a look below to see my one.

My first banana

For literacy this week, we are doing and type of writing based on a chosen a picture. So, for literacy, I chose a picture of a dragon and did a narrative about it. Next we had to complete our piece of writing. Next, we had to have it buddy-checked by 3 different people. Then we had to publish it on our blog.

you can have a look below to see my writing.

My First Banana

The time is 1543, 3:33 pm, A 3 minute late delivery delivered by a messenger dragon…

We are here, in the Nobunaga castle,  there are 2 birds and a messenger dragon that cannot talk…

“Hmmm.” said Nobunaga, the king of the castle. “Hmmm” said Kimichi, the the queen of the castle. “Mmmm” said the messenger dragon. “What is this yellow thing? It smells really weird and it is yellow and mushy.” said Nobunaga. Then, his wife said “I think the dragon is trying to tell us to peel it and eat it”. “ but then” said Nobunaga as he peeled the weird yellow thing “the dragon will laugh at us, should I decapitate it?” “ no.” “not the yellow thing, the dragon!!!” “no” “fine” they argued.

Then suddenly, the king’s servant (the monkey named Masamori) entered the room…

“Oooohh” said Masamori, “what is that? How did you get it? Can I eat it? OMG THAT IS SO AMAZING!!! Oh, and most of all… can I eat it?” “yes” “really?” “yes” “really?” “yes” “really?” “yes” “really?” “yes” “really?” “yes” “wow” They rapidly repeated to each other as Masamori took the weird yellow thing we were talking about and took a bite, “wow!!! This is so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so so DELICIOUS!!!” he said as he finished the weird-yellow-thing-the-messenger-dragon-called-the-bah-nah-nah and threw the bah-nah-nah peel on the floor, “that suits you” said Nobunaga

Then, the otter servant (I meant the Other servant) named Iromasam came in and slipped on the bah-nah-nah peel and face-planted.
Then, the two birds took the bah-nah-nah peel and yelled ”let’s make people slip using the bah-nah-nah peel!!!”,  “that suits you” came a muffled and suspicious noise that sounded suspiciously like Iromasam.

The dragon then flew off to send a message to the tribe who sent the bananas.

The legend says that Masamori was the first thing to eat a banana… , or maybe he wasn’t…

Collaboration

This week at school, our group is learning about collaboration. Collaboration is when everyone works together as a group.  To us, collaboration sounds like lots of people talking together and giving tips and ideas to others in your group. collaboration feels really good and it is sometimes really annoying because your plan doesn't work. It looks like people working together. For one of our collaboration activities, we tied lots of string to a small metal ring. Then, we put a cup into the ring and put a ball in it. Next, we saw if we could each hold onto one string and make the ball go up, then down. Level 2 was to do the sane thing, but we used a smaller cup and ball. Level 3 was to do the same thing again except with no cup. Level 4 was to bounse the ball then catch it 10 times!!!    have a look at the photos below to have a look at my friends doing it.
